I stumbled across1 what may quite possibly be *the* most obvious safety rule — or rule of any kind, for that matter. From AFI 91-114,2 Safety Rules for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Weapon Systems:

11.1 Do not use nuclear weapons to troubleshoot equipment faults.

What really keeps me awake at night is the realization that, at some point, this became necessary to write down.
